Proclaim the Excellence of Christ

You are … a people for God’s own possession, so that you may proclaim the “Excellencies” of Him who has called you out of darkness into His marvelous light… — 1 Peter 2:9 (NASB) Jesus, You are Lord and Master of all. You are the complete deity in bodily form, the absolute radiance of the glory of Yahweh, the covenant-keeping, self-existent and self-sufficient I AM. You are Creator of all things who existed before and beyond the created universe. Were You to withdraw Your breath, all would perish. You are the Unchangeable, Everlasting and Faithful God Who requires nothing or no one to exist or to accomplish Your purposes. LORD of All, You established Your throne in the heavens, and Your sovereignty rules over all. You are the Ancient of Days seated upon Your throne fully present in every generation. We bow in worship to You only, the All-Mighty, All-Powerful, All-Knowing Eternal God. You, the invisible God, became a visible expression of Yourself through Your Son, Jesus. Oh Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace, Emmanuel, You are with us by the power of Your Spirit. There is no God like You in heaven above or on earth below. Every nation, tribe and people group belong to You and shall bow in worship before You The King. All authority in heaven and earth belongs to You! Power and might are eternally in Your hand, and nothing or no one can withstand You. Holy Spirit, awaken in Your people an unquenchable fire of an unconquerable zeal for Christ, that by the power of Your Spirit living in us we may live in the fullness of all that we were created to be. Jesus, King of kings and Lord of lords, we SHOUT our joyful praise to You for who You are!

Enjoying the ride

Learning to ride a bike with no training wheels can be exciting and scary for both parents and kids. Not to mention the killer backache parents can get trying to hold on to the back of the bike! Fortunately, there are handy trainer handles you can purchase to attach to the back of their bike that make it much easier to follow along with them and stand upright at the same time. I highly recommend them! Other than adding a handle, here are some tips that will help make the transition easier for both of you.

Officials keep eye on river levels

Water levels for the Mississippi River are high right now, but that’s a good thing, according to Reynold Minsky, president of the Fifth Louisiana Levee District Board of Commissioners. Minsky said that the river recently crested at 37 feet, which is a little high for June. It could get a little higher before it begins to fall, thanks to heavy rainfall up north, Minsky explained. “Last year, it got down to two feet which caused serious problems,” Minsky said. And while levels are considerably better than last year, “it’s a very good possibility it could get low again,” he added.
